Experimental short movie
East to East is inspired by recent experience: the discovery of the universe of Franco-Korean artists Jisook Min and Taegon Kim by the Serbian public on the occasion of their last exhibition in Belgrade.
Inspired by the public's emotions in this exhibition, director Marija Momić daringly placed her miniature camera at the heart of the art installations, capturing the reactions of thousands of passers-by on Knez Mihailova Street during the two-month exhibition at the French Institute.
Through this action, the public of the exhibition itself becomes the subject of a work, that of a short film, halfway between the documentary and the experimental film. This visual testimony explores this intangible link between the public and contemporary art.
Bteween the line, the film invites a reflection on the definition of the East, aroused by the journey of visual artists, from Seoul, to Strasbourg, via Belgrade.
And you, what is your definition of the East?
The short film is produced by a team of young Serbian filmmakers from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, composed by director Marija Momić, composer Miloš Jovanović, sound engineer Lazar Arsović, and editor Ana Sremac.
It is part of the 1208 project aiming at creating a dialogue among Serbian and French artists.
